Two By Wodehouse
City Lit Theater presents the third and final installment in its series of one-night-only concert readings during the holidays. P.G. Wodehouse returns to City Lit with readings of two classic short stories: "The Man Upstairs" and "Ahead of Schedule," both from a 1914 collection called The Man Upstairs and Other Stories. The first is about a woman whose attempts to compose a waltz on her piano are interrupted by pounding on her ceiling from the apartment above. The second features early prototypes of Bertie and Jeeves--a world-class nincompoop and his unflappable valet, but with different names--in a story of a problematic love triangle.
Tickets are $15, with discounts for students, members of the military and subscribers.
City Lit is located at 1020 W. Bryn Mawr avenue on the northeast corner of Bryn Mawr and Kenmore inside the Edgewater Presbyterian Church building. It is accessible by the Bryn Mawr stop on the CTA Red Line and the 84, 147 and 151 bus lines. Please call 773-293-3682 for more details.
