Taste Workshop: California Olive Oil
Some of the world's best olive oils are made just outside the Bay Area. Come to Slow Food Berkeley's Taste Workshop on California Olive Oil to taste some extraordinary oils freshly pressed from the most recent harvest, meet the artisans who made them and try a tasting menu prepared by Venus's Chef Amy Murray.
Pablo Voitzuk of Apollo Olive Oil (Yuba County, CA), Joe Bozzano of Bozzano Olive Ranch (Stockton, CA), Mike Madison of Yolo Bulb Farm (Yolo County, CA) and Charles Crohare of The Olivina (Livermore, CA) will guide us in tasting their oils and in learning to recognize high-quality olive oil. They will also lead a comparison tasting of artisan and industrially produced oils. Following the tasting, Chef Amy Murray of Venus Restaurant will offer a tasting menu featuring: Olive Oil Crackers with Olive Oil-Marinated Goat Cheese and Herbs; Celeriac and Potato Soup with Drizzled Olive Oil; Fennel, Orange and Olive Salad; Olive Oil-Poached Fish with Capers and Roasted Cauliflower; and Olive Oil Cookies.
We'll see you there!
