Nightmare Dream
"Nightmare Dream makes the most striking use of the Campbell House that we've ever seen." A "thrilling production finely staged" -NOW Magazine
Nightmare Dream is an intimate site specific theatre experience that moves through space, time and cultural history exploring the African encounter with the 'other'.
At each performance, a limited number of audience members will enter the nightmare/dream experience of Simon, an African immigrant who is haunted by his disconnection to his traditional culture on the eve of returning back to Africa to perform the burial rites for his deceased father. Simon's journey is an evolution of the African self that ebbs into high dreams and terrifying nightmares.
Set inside the historic Campbell House Museum, this unique theatre production will feature performances that incorporate sound, movement and text within each of the Campbell House's rooms.
