Science: Neil deGrasse Tyson: 'The Pluto Files'
In August 2006, when the International Astronomical Union voted Pluto out of planet hood a firestorm ensued. Astrophysicist and Hayden Planetarium director Neil deGrasse Tyson takes a lighthearted look at why Pluto is so entrenched in Americas cultural and patriotic view of the cosmos in The Pluto Files: The Rise and Fall of America's Favorite Planet. Tyson is the bestselling author of Death by Black Hole and Other Cosmic Quandaries and has hosted several PBS 'NOVA' programs. Presented as part of the Seattle Science Lectures, with Pacific Science Center, and Elliott Bay Book Company.
