Health Disparities Initiative GBM #2 / Women's Health & Hygiene Box Event

Event Description:
Health Disparities Initiative at UCSD is hosting an in-person event (with ability to join virtually) that will encompass the organization's GBM and workshop to package 20-30 funded women's health & hygiene boxes for women living at the border between San Diego and Tijuana. The GBM portion will encompass organization updates and news about upcoming internal events and projects. Following the GBM portion, students and student org officers will organize themselves into groups to package the women's health & hygiene products into boxes to be shipped to Tijuana in exchange for slices of pizza and candy.

Event Logistics/Timeline:
The food involved post-GBM portion will most likely be individually packaged slices of pizza and candy purchased outside of campus (to be reimbursed by the student org fund). Student officers of the organization will be speaking at the event to attendees--UCSD undergraduate and graduate students who register for the service portion of the event either before or during the event. The HDI fund amounts to about $3600, around $1200 of which will go to the purchase of the boxes and boxing products, as well as the pizza and candy to be exchanged for student participation in the event post-GBM.
