Scrooge
LeGacy presents is proud to bring back the spirit of Christmas to the historic Nevada Theatre with the return of Rodger Hoopman's "SCROOGE", November 26th through December 26th.
After a year of the Covid pandemic literally shutting the doors on live theatre, producer/director Sue LeGate Halford is thrilled to be bringing back the delightful original drama/musical.
"We didn't take the whole year off, though. Through the wise direction and rewrite for radio, Rodger Hoopman and Les Solomon produced a wonderful radio play of Scrooge for the 2020 holiday season. It was absolutely charming. The old time radio play feel, with great sound effects, and a terrific cast, we felt like we kept Christmas alive in many way for our community. Now it's time to bring back the stage production, and we are very very happy about that!"
Rodger Hoopman, author, returns in his 43rd year as Ebenezer Scrooge, that rascal of a Dicken's character, who with the help of three spirits, repents his greedy ways, finding joy and love in the true spirit of Christmas.
"It's a great cast" says Hoopman, "and we are truly finding an extra special joy in bringing it back to the stage, after the theatre lay dark all around the world last Christmas".
Joining Hoopman is LeGacy veteran Kassady Kelly, serving as choreographer and Mrs Fezziwig and Mrs Dilber! Also returning are Robert Peters and Alexis Phillips, as the young lover Ebenezer and Belle. Sawyer Maddux returns in multiple roles.
"it is mostly a new cast" says LeGate-Halford..."people move on, kids grow up, so its always a new show of sorts. We have a great mix this year, and everyone gets to play multiple parts....except for Scrooge! There can only be one of him!"
Joining LeGacy are Philip Jacques and Del Dozier as Bob and Mrs. Cratchit. The three ghosts are portrayed by husband and wife Catz and Jean Forsman. Rounding out the cast are newcomers Bruce Barnard, Sierra Arbaugh, Isabella Moore, Emilia Moore, and Izaya Long as Tiny Tim.
Musical direction is by Beverly Marks. Lighting design and assistant director is Les Solomon. Costuming by Libby Bonomolo.
Scrooge plays Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm November 26th through December 26th, with the exception of NO show on Christmas, and Friday, December 24th show is at 2pm. Three Sunday matineees at 2pm...December 12th, 19th, and 26th. ONE Thursday show December 23rd at 7pm.
