Timon of Athens
The Kings Theatre Department will present Williams Shakespeares Timon of Athens. Often considered one of Shakespeares Problem Plays, This famously unfinished play is a story of a wealthy lord, Timon, and his obsession with lavishing his extreme wealth on others. Ultimately mistaking these people for his friends, these parasitic friends use Timon for his wealth and strip him of all of his material goods until he is left broken and penniless, and is forced to live in the woods until his inevitable demise. Equal parts tragic and satirical, this play is both a laughable and haunting look into the deadly and evil power that fame, wealth and material goods have over our society.
