She Loves Me
Kings College Theatre is so very excited to present She Loves Me. An intimate and touching show, featuring music by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof) and book by Joe Masteroff (Cabaret). Considered by many to be the most charming musical ever written, She Loves Me is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old-world elegance. Set in a 1930s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don't see eye to eye. After both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. The Mikos Lazlos play Parfuemerie, on which it is based, has inspired many adaptations, including the classic The Shop Around the Corner starring Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullivan and the beloved love story, You've Got Mail starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.
KC Theatre will be supporting the charity Emily's Gracious Gift during this production. If you can, please bring a new, unwrapped gift with you when you see the show. See Below for more information!
Emilys Birthday Bash
Emily Grace Longmore was a typical three-year-old when she was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer a few days after Christmas 2017. After an eleven-month fight against this terrible disease, Emily went to Heaven on November 14, 2018.
In honor of Emilys birthday on November 28th, we are organizing a toy collection for children at Geisingers Pediatric Oncology Clinic and Janet Weis Childrens Hospital in Danville, PA.
Children fighting cancer and other serious illnesses often spend the holidays in the hospital, and many of their families face economic hardships as well. We know from experience how encouraging it can be for a child to receive a gift while in the hospital. We feel that helping these children and their families is a great way to honor the memory of Emilys sweet and loving spirit.
We are collecting new, unwrapped toys for children ages infant through 16 years old.
Visa/Mastercard Gifts cards are also good gifts and would be appreciated.
Monetary donations can also be given to the Emilys Gracious Gifts fund with the Luzerne Foundation (www.luzfnd.org or link through our Facebook page).
Thank you for celebrating Emilys life in this way and for helping these young warriors
