the BLOOD: The legendary 1980s UK Punk Rock band coming to the USA! Megalomania, Stark Raving Normal, Such Fun, False Gestures For A Devious Public, etc. The Blood, a legendary phenomena from the 80s punk epoch. The Blood, the sensational iconoclasts of the iconoclasts. The Blood, the immaculate conception of the punk paradigm.
The band formed in 1982 and is led by The Cardinal and JJ Bedsore. Their volatile sound is a pulsating chorus of punk harmonic noise. The Blood's music blends together Oi!, heavy metal, football chants and shock rock.
Many of The Blood songs, satirically, challenge the representational illusions of both political and religious paradigms. Their first single, "Megalomania", ridiculed the Pope. Their second single "Stark Raving Normal" criticized one-dimensional patriotism, apathy and mediocrity.
Their first album, False Gestures for a Devious Public (1983), hit the UK top 30 and was voted one of the year's best releases by Sounds magazine. They used to be managed by Garry Bushell, and their song "Such Fun" was on the Oi! compilation album Oi! Oi! That's Yer Lot!. The Blood have a cult following all around the world.
On December 10, 2006, (International Human Rights Day) The Blood was reformed by the Cardinal and some of his friends to release the song, "Kill The Pimps", on the Eyeline Productions record label. Amnesty International asked the band to play Kill The Pimps at the finale of their annual gathering in 2007. The song criticizes governments that, consciously, turn a blind eye to human trafficking. On September 11, 2007, The Blood released their first acoustic DVD, Samurai Lullaby, on the Eyeline Productions record label. The filmic footage on this DVD is taken from the tragedy of 9/11. On June 1, 2008, The Blood released an acoustic CD album punk@theopera. The concept album reveals the voyage of two young people who struggle to free themselves from human-trafficking pimps and a tyrannical religious cult. In 2010, The Blood's latest acoustic work came out, a self-penned album, by The Cardinal, @thebodysnatchersball.
The Blood will, theatrically, tour the world over the next 10 years filming live footage whilst, simultaneously, streaming a story of their voyage as they talk to punks on the streets and their avid fans all around the global venue. The Blood will be performing all their old classic songs and releasing their new work as they go. The Blood are the amplified supra ultra unchallengeable iconoclasts of the iconoclasts. Look out for this amazing and legendary band, and their phenomenal show, as they strut like rabid peacocks across the global plateau.
The Blood are the infinite serenade of the event itself. The Blood are the coup d'état of music unleashed in the face of tragedy. The Blood are the sonic Ménage à trois of bedlam, lust and irony.
NERVE CONTROL are a Hardcore Punk band straight from Chula Vista & National City. Ripping band that have left jaws dropped every time they play. Think if Poison Idea & Negative Approach had a chicano bebe.
STORTA: Raw Punk band out of San Diego. Formed in late August 2012. Trying to salvage what's left of the San Diego punk scene.
