Annual Holiday Concert - Handel's Messiah
The premiere Chorale presents the San Fernando Valley Master Chorale and "Messiah" Festival Chorus.
Under the artistic direction of Terry Danne the Chorale will be led by guest director Dr. Donald Caldwell, renown as a past choral director at Cal Tech for 24 years. Approximately 80 singers from throughout the Valley area will be n stage, representing some 15 church and temple choirs, in the Christmas portion of this internationally beloved work.
Santa will be making an appearance to give gifts to the children in the audience. Audience members are asked to bring an unwrapped gift which will be taken to a local children's hospital.
Soloists: Grace Balint, Annalise McLain, Theresa Danne, Lindsay Patterson, Kevin Story, Com Estridge and Alex Britton.
This annual event will mark the 14th year that the SFVMC has hosted the popular Messiah Festival Chorus; the event dates back to 1991.
Also appearing on the program will be the Premiere Chamber Chorale performing selections from their upcoming tour. The Chorale, under the direction of Maestro Danne, will be appearing at the Teatro de la Cuidad, La Paz,in Baja California, Sur, Mexico on December 13th. At the invitation of the government,the televised concert will be entitled "Joy to the World".
