The Connecting Chords Music Festival presents Leyla McCalla at the First Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Thursday, October 21 at 7:30 PM.
This bilingual multi-instrumentalist, cellist and singer has been deeply influenced by traditional Creole, Cajun and Haitian music, as well as by American jazz and folk. Her music is earthy, elegant, soulful and witty it vibrates with three centuries of history, yet feels strikingly fresh, distinctive and contemporary.
Tickets are $20, $15 for seniors, $5 for ages 25 and under, with a "pay-what-you-can" option. All seats are general admission. Tickets will be available for purchase on the Connecting Chords Music Festival website and at the door.
