Repast Baroque Ensemble: The Music of Drury Lane, Brooklyn Performance
Repast explores the eighteenth-century revival of Shakespeare at the Drury Lane theater in London. Featuring music taken from Drury Lane productions to modernize and popularize Shakespeare for London audiences, this program explores the role of drama and theatricality in English Baroque music.
Composers include Thomas Arne, Charles Dibdin, and John Christopher Smith.
