Tsai Ming-Liang Taiwan 2020 2h 7m
About With the onscreen help of his muse Lee Kang-sheng, the great Taiwanese filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang has been directing exquisite examinations of alienation, isolation, and the fleeting beauty of human connection for decades. Days will undoubtedly stand as one of his best, sparest, and most intimate works.
Lee stars as a variation on himself, wandering through a lonely urban landscape and seeking treatment in Hong Kong for a chronic illness; at the same time, a young Laotian immigrant working in Bangkok, played by Anong Houngheuangsy, goes about his daily routine. The two men eventually emerge from their solitude to come together in a moment of healing, tenderness, and sexual release.
Among the most cathartic entries in Tsais filmography, Days is a work of longing, constructed with the directors brilliant eye for visual composition and shot through with profound empathy.

Accessibility
Ticketing, concessions, cinemas, restrooms, and our public edit lab are located on Northwest Film Forum's ground floor, which is wheelchair accessible. We have a limited number of assistive listening devices available for programs hosted in our larger theater, Cinema 1. These devices are maintained by the Technical Director, and can be requested at the ticketing and concessions counter.
The Forum does NOT have assistive devices for the visually impaired, and is not (yet) a scent-free venue. Our commitment to increasing access for our audiences is ongoing, and we welcome all public input on the subject!
If you have additional specific questions about accessibility at our venue, please contact our Executive Director Vivian Hua at vivian@nwfilmforum.org
