The Giving Tree
Once there was a tree, and she loved a little boy...
Originally written in 1964, this beloved children story comes to life with puppets, fantastic imagery, actors, and live music. A timeless tale enjoyed through multiple generations, "The Giving Tree" is a story of a tree's unconditional love for a boy.
Shel is a young boy with an active imagination. He befriends a tree in the forest. His bitter and grumpy uncle Albert thinks he should get his head out of the clouds and rejoin reality, but Shel's mother encourages his playful imagination. Shel's friend Sarah thinks he's weird. The only person that truly understands him is Tree. As Shel grows older though, his relationship with Tree changes, however the tree's love for the boy does not. Shel wants a house, a job, a wife. Tree does all she can to provide for Shel, but can it ever be enough? Any parent will relate to Tree's unconditional love for Shel, and kid's will be entertained by dynamic characters and visual effects (including a hilarious shadow puppet scene set to music) with a fun moral at the end.
