Fujita Hiroko grew up in the rural, mountainous region of Japan, where she absorbed wonderful country folktales handed down to her by her parents and grandparents in the traditional Japanese oral storytelling.
She has made this storytelling tradition into an art form all her own and she has delighted many audiences in Japan and around the world. The vivid gestures and enchanting sounds of her stories cross all language barriers, and no Japanese knowledge is needed to be immersed in the unique sensory experience of her storytelling.
