Our food is only as nutritious as our soil is and our soils are only as resilient as we support them to be. As our gardens awaken, it is a perfect time to apply amendments to nourish the biology of the soil. In this workshop, learn about how to make compost tea and fermented plant extracts to increase the fertility of your soils and support your plants through environmental droughts and flooding. If already composting, please bring a sandwich bag of your finished compost to class.
This workshop is only open to present and past participants of The Huntington Botanical Gardens "Train - the - Trainer" and "Growing Your Green Thumb" Programs.
This is a grant sponsored course intended as professional development for people actively involved in teaching gardening on a community, education, or professional level.
An email address, program title and year are required to register.
