Genevieve Galarneau + Keltoi - BIF 2021
Join us for an evening of lively tunes and powerful songs at the Sylvia Center for the Arts.
The Sylvia Center is joining other venues in asking for proof of vaccination or a negative test for audience members, as well as asking them to stay masked except when eating or drinking. Doors will open at 6pm, open seating.
Genevieve Galarneau Genevieve has been a featured singer for Whelans Master Sessions (singing alongside Niamh Parsons, Cathy Jordan, and Clare Horgan) and at Portlands monthly song event, Oíche na n-Amhrán. She has given demonstrations of regionality in sean-nós singing at Cascadia Irish Music Week. Over the course of COVID-19, she sang for a handful of zoom benefit concerts, including one to raise relief money for the Navajo Nation, committed herself to improving her Irish language skills, and started collaborations with other Irish traditional musicians. Genevieve currently serves on the board of Oregons Mícheál Ó Domhnaill branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. She is also the 2021 winner of the Comórtas Amhránaíochta Sean-nós in Oireachtas Gaeilge Cheanada (the All-Canada Sean-nós Singing Champion).
Keltoi Keltoi's spirited interpretations of Scottish and Irish dance music and soulful vocal harmonies are innovative, entertaining, and uplifting. Ranging from the fiery to the poignant, Keltoi's music reflects the passion and experience of its members.
