Small Business Lunch at Halls
The King Street Marketing Group and Halls Chophouse are pleased to present Rep. Leon Stavrinakis, Charleston County's representative in the South Carolina House at Small Business Lunch at Halls Chophouse, Thursday December 5, 2013. In the House, Stavrinakis sits on the very important Ways and Means Committee which impacts small business in a big way.
Stavrinakis has never voted to raise property or income taxes, but the state needs additional revenue just to maintain, let alone improve our infrastructure. Where will the money come from to improve our roads and bridges?
One of the most popular political figures in Charleston, Stavrinakis served on the Charleston County Council for eight years from 1999 2006. In an historic event, he was elected Chairman of Council while in the minority party. In 2007 he was elected to the SC House to represent District 119 in Charleston County.
Stavrinakis has constantly worked across party lines to improve planning and control growth, pass property tax reform and to fight crime and drugs in our community. As a member of the minority party he has made a name for himself with his bi-partisan leadership style.
Leon served as local prosecutor from 1993-2000 and founded the Stavrinakis Law Firm in 1996. A native Charlestonian, he graduated from the College of Charleston in 1988 and the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1992.
Each month Small Business Lunch at Halls features a distinguished speaker from the business, civic or political arenas upstairs at Halls Chophouse with an imaginative three-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Matthew Niessner.
Tickets are $29 per person for the luncheon and parking. Doors open at 11:30 AM and lunch is served promptly at noon. Limited seating of 80 participants provides an intimate experience with each speaker.
Halls Chophouse is located at 434 King Street in downtown Charleston. Parking, validated at the event, is available at the Visitors Center Garage on Ann Street between King and Meeting Streets.
