Discover Houston Tours Ride the Red Line: Medical Center & Midtown
Join Discover Houston Tours for a ride on MetroRail's Red Line to the Texas Medical Center and Midtown. Meet your guide and board MetroRail at the Fannin-South Station, then ride the train to the Dryden/TMC Station. Tour Texas Children's Hospital's unique playground, living wall, and train exhibit, then walk to St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital's Wallace D. Wilson Museum at the Texas Heart Institute, honoring the work of Dr. Denton Cooley. Restrooms are available. Exit St. Luke's and walk past the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center to McGovern Commons, where you can enjoy a snack and/or beverage on your own. Restrooms are available. Continue past Baylor College of Medicine to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where you'll learn about George Hermann, Hermann Park, Memorial Hermann Hospital, and the history of the Texas Medical Center. Restrooms are available. Walk to MetroRail and ride north to the Ensemble/HCC Station. Walk to the intersection of Holman and Main, where your guide will discuss how this neighborhood has transitioned from the South End to Little Saigon to Midtown. Tour the MidMain block, then purchase coffee or a cocktail at Double Trouble. Visit more of Midtown on your own before boarding MetroRail and returning with your guide to the Fannin-South Station. Option: Stay in Midtown and return to the Fannin-South Station on your own by 8 p.m.
