Warner-Carrillo Stagecoach Rides
Come to celebrate the heritage of the Butterfield Stage, whether you ride on the authentic replica stage or come to enjoy the entertainment and history, your adventure begins at the historic 1857 Warner-Carrillo Ranch House museum and the former Butterfield Stage Stop. The adobe home tells the story of the emigrant trail, the overland stage, and the ranching history of the area.
Returning this year will be driver Sioux Munyon and her team, Wild West entertainer Judy Taylor, the Hole in the Wall Gang, who have been known to rob the stage en route; and various musicians will be playing western tunes as well as jazz, and a jam session is sure to break out. In addition, we will be raffling off a hand made quilt made especially for this event by Nan Rebik and Sharri Dowdell, and there will be a quilting demonstration.
If you want to experience what it was like to ride the stage as did thousands of emigrants traveling to the "promised land," reserve your place for a 15- to 20-minute ride along the original trail. Enjoy the only such stage ride event in the country, a truly one of a kind experience!
Rides take place on a first come first served basis only, with the last stage leaving at 3:30pm. Please arrive early enough to avoid already filled later stages.
PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING (You will sign this waiver onsite before your ride) In consideration of the opportunity to participate as a passenger on the Warner's Ranch House stagecoach ride, I, the participant, agree to hold harmless SOHO and/or the Vista Irrigation District; I understand, covenant, and warrant that, as a participant, I acknowledge and represent that I am aware of the inherent risks to person or property involved in riding in a stagecoach on an unimproved, natural trail.
