Event
Locavore Corps -- February 2009
Do you want to take ethical eating to the next level? Join us on the first Wednesday of each month for the Locavore Corps workshop series. We'll gather for good food, good conversation, and concrete tools for creating change from farm to table.
Each workshop features a special guest speaker, an overview of the Bay Area's regional food system, a discussion of regionality, seasonality and what constitutes local, shared tips for local eating, action steps for supporting local food where you eat and shop, and light local fare. You'll join a growing network of eaters and businesses working together to create a more vibrant, transparent, and sustainable food economy in the Bay Area.
On February 4th, guest speaker Cheryl Koehler, Publisher/Editor of Edible East Bay, will discuss her work with the magazine and the role of media in building the local food movement.
Cost: Sliding scale $10-$50 (no one turned away for lack of funds). $50 donation makes you a member of the Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF).
