An Evening with Eugenia Riot feat. Elliott and Guest
Doors 7pm. Show 8pm. $10 ADV $15 DOS.
Eugenia Riot is the new musical brainchild of Portland, Oregon based singer-songwriter (and Wilmington native) Leigh Jones (Crow and the Canyon, Five Letter Word). The name is taken from Joness eldest known female ancestor, Eugenia Riot, born in the year 1205 in Yorkshire, England. The original songs of Eugenia Riot are at once personal and relatable, idiosyncratic and infectious, with Joness contemplative lyrics always buoyed by her lilting, folky vocals. Eugenia Riot features Jeremy Elliott and Aaron Guest (both formerly of the nationally touring band Polecat) on electric guitar and keys, respectively. The official music video for their first single, the lovelorn yet playful "170 Delancey," is an ode to the Portland cityscape and the United States Postal Service.
