Night One of two fantastic nights featuring the amazing MISS TESS AND THE TALKBACKS! The Brooklyn-based singer and her band make swinging, jumpin' modern vintage music that nods to the traditions of saloon jazz, country swing, early rockabilly, and New Orleans second line, yet somehow maintains a unique and personal sound.

A gifted singer, composer & pianist, Neha's style can be characterized as a smorgasbord of musical personalities. While definitely rooted in jazz, elements of folk, blues and pop also play a huge role in her music. Echoes of her mother's classical Indian musical training and influence can also be heard in her music. orn into a strict Indian family who emigrated over from India in their mid-twenties, Neha worked against cultural norms to stake her claim in the music world. While music constantly permeated the household for as long as she can remember, Neha was always taught to think of music as a hobby, not as a profession.
After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in Economics. Neha took a job working for Google in San Francisco. She spent as much of her free time hitting the San Francisco jazz scene, performing and learning as much as she could. After four years of working in the bay area, Neha made a career changing decision to finally pursue what she had wholeheartedly always wanted to music.
MISS TESS AND THE TALKBACKS:
The Love I Have For You, the highly anticipated new music from praised Brooklyn-based band Miss Tess & The Talkbacks has just been released October 29 on Signature Sounds Recordings. The 7-song EP features six covers and one new original and follows their debut (Sweet Talk) for Signature Sounds. The new album was produced by Miss Tess & The Talkbacks and recorded and mixed by Devin Greenwood (Norah Jones, Anais Mitchell, Amos Lee) in Brooklyn, NY. The 7-song album features six covers and one new original and pays homage to some of Tess's favorite songwriters. Miss Tess explains how the band chose the 6 songs to cover: "Each artist we covered has held a special place in the history of our lives, as well as in the history of American music. These folks are all musical giants who dedicated their lives to music, and for that I hold them in the highest esteem."
