SANTA BARBARA REVELS EQUINOX 2021
SANTA BARBARA REVELS presents a melodious evening of al fresco entertainment with an opportunity to savor the sounds of the New World's Mexican and Spanish musical traditions. Revels Music Director Erin McKibben leads a string and wind instrumental ensemble that will be joined by guest vocalists. We explore and enjoy these musical styles in anticipation of our production of "The Christmas Revels: An Early California Celebration of the Winter Solstice," which will take place in December at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara. Enjoy the opportunity to meet with the artists in a pre-concert reception, including a discussion of the background and history of this diverse material, led by Early California music specialist Luis Moreno.
