Palisades Virtuosi creates an evening of music that celebrates stories in music.
Our signature newly commissioned work is written by world renowned composer, Kerry Turner. Known for his eclectic and riveting rhythmic style, his works have been performed all over the globe. This new work creates a musical narrative for the famed early Gothic novel, "Vathek" written by William Beckford in 1782 and details "The History of the Caliph Vathek".
We are thrilled to feature an exciting guest artist! Rob McClure, of Broadway fame, most recently nominated for a Tony for his role as Charlie Chaplin in the 2013 production of "Chaplin", will join us as narrator for the evening.
other featured works "The Ugly Duckling" set to "Caprice" - Camille Saint-Saens with guest oboist from Montclair State University "Mother Goose Suite" - Maurice Ravel - transcribed by PV Selections from "Carmen" - Georges Bizet - arr. by Michael Webster and a new story by a young Bergen County student set to "The Spice of The Program" - Ben Model - commissioned by Palisades Virtuosi [2005]
Please join us for our Pre-Concert talk with the artists and composer at 7:15 and stay for our post concert reception. (Be sure to fill out a raffle ticket for your choice of free tickets or a free CD - raffle winner will be pulled during the reception!)
