Fall Veggie Basics

It may be hotter than heck but now is the time to start planning that fall and winter garden.

Master Gardeners Delise Weir & Bridgit Matz will talk about what to plant and when to plant it to extend your harvest through the holidays. They'll also provide tips on how to effortlessly improve your soil over the winter with cover crops so it's rich and luscious in spring.

You'll walk away with a list of what you can grow starting in Aug/Sept and whether you should start them from seed or by transplant. We'll discuss issues special to fall gardening such as care for plants in cool temperatures or sudden Indian summer and typical pests you'll deal with in our unpredictable fall weather.
