The AIAOC Healthcare Committee Presents ~ Future Healthcare Thinking with Technology
Have you had to remodel your brand-new project before it opened because of changes in a care model(s)? The last year has taught us that healthcare will become even more nimble than the buildings that cover them. While technology and care models evolve with every update, our buildings need to weather the winds of change by leaning into the changes instead of being remodeled. Facility project teams can investigate the future, and assess what might happen to their project, by using what-if scenarios of functional requirements both for what is being asked and what the future might bring by using digital what-if scenarios before the project is designed. Digital health is becoming more pervasive and so should the planning of it.
This session will discuss the method of scenario planning using publicly available health and population data to understand the future with more confidence by statistically modeling the inputs. The session will also share case studies to show how scenario planning reduced owner-driven changes throughout the design and construction of the program. This approach will provide the user with functional requirements of what is needed for their services.
Learning objectives:
1. Determine which spaces are healthcare key drivers. 2. Connect public health data with performance metrics with key drivers. 3. Apply the care plan approaches to any healthcare project youre working on. 4. Use population projections to understand the demand on your project.
