Topic: Are You Ready For The Change?
The role of ASHRAE Members is changing. We are moving from being HVAC folks to Total Building Engineers. This trend is being driven by a number of trends like System Integration, Building Labeling, Public Disclosure, Commissioning, ASHRAE AEDG for High Performance Buildings and much more. These trends are changing the role of ASHRAE members and, at the same time, increasing the market for our services. We could see a doubling of markets in the next 7 years. Are you aware of and ready for the changes?
To explore this very interesting subject, our speaker is Mr. Art Hallstrom, P.E., ASHRAE Fellow from Lexington, KY. Mr. Hallstrom is a 40 year veteran in our industry. ASHRAE Fellow, Certified Energy Modeler, Current Member of ASHRAE Publishing and Education Council, ASHRAE TC 1.6 and 2.6. He is the Executive Director of ae3, LCC, an Alliance of Professional Services Companies. Art is also a member of AEE and ACFEI.
Mr. Hallstrom has served on the ASHRAE bEQ, ASHRAEwiki, and ASHRAE Electronic and Physical Meeting ADHOC's. He is a Past President of the ASHRAE College of Fellows, ASHRAE Board of Directors, and Past President of three different ASHRAE Chapters. He currently is working with KY and WV universities to teach ASHRAE 90.1 in KY and WV to Design Professionals and Code Officials.
