Amalgamate Performance of Back to the Table - August 15, 2021 @ 2pm
Amalgamates newest work, Back to the Table, encapsulates what many experienced during the 2020-2021 Covid-19 pandemic. Familiar and heart-rending stories come to life at the table - capturing in raw form how social distancing, death, and remote life have dramatically impacted day-to-day life - then and now. Three performers, clad in red with an all-red set, step inside battles of the mind and display the endurance required to navigate each waking day in an upside-down, unrelenting world. As the stories unfold, layers of grief are shed, connections are formed, and a state of rebirth is imminent. "Back to the Table" is at once an ode to loss, as well as an invitation for all of us to gather together again and celebrate what we have gained.
