Larkin Grimm with Beat Circus and Chriss Sutherland
Michael Gira (Young God Records, Swans) says of much-lauded psych songwriter Larkin Grimm, She is pre folk, even pre music. She is the sound of the eternal mother and the wrath of all women. Thats an even better endorsement than the recent ringing review she got in the New York Times for her new record, Parplar! Shes joined by local labelmate Chriss Sutherland (Fire on Fire) and the welcome return of Beat Circus, Brian Carpenters nine-piece gyspsy band of tuba, viola, guitars, banjo, violin and bass featuring members of Kayo Dot, Xiu Xiu, Karate and Cul De Sac. Doors open at 9pm, music starts at 9:30pm, $7, 18+
