Orange County Museum of Art- Hard Hat Tour
SOLD OUT! The Orange County Museum of Arts new home will be situated at Orange Countys major arts complex, on the campus of Segerstrom Center for the Arts, creating a vibrant cultural destination in Costa Mesa. Defined by an open and engaging urban presence, OCMAs new home will build on the museums history of community enrichment and presentation of thought-provoking works of art across a wide range of mediums, by artists of diverse backgrounds.
Designed by AIA Gold Medalist Thom Mayne, FAIA and his firm Morphosis, this hard hat tour will explore the various indoor and outdoor public spaces, and discuss how the design strategy choreographs a rich and diverse visitor experience. The tour will emphasize the integration of ADA and sustainability within the complex design and building layout.
1.Attendees will learn about the sustainability design aspects to qualify OCMA for LEED Certification. 2.Attendees will learn about the implementation of ADA in this complex design. 3.Attendees will learn about the use of native and recycled materials within the project. 4.Attendees will learn about required design features mandated by the Cal Green codes.
