Lula Washington Dance Theatre - Summer Showcase
The Lula Washington Dance Theatre Summer Showcase is the culmination of our Creative Expressions and Youth /Teen Intensive Training Programs.
Thanks to Ken Morris and his inaugural Scholarship For young boys and young men we are proud to showcase four young men who participated in the program.
This year was intense and intimate. Our youngest students got to have uninterrupted quality time with Ms. Lula and our youth and teens got focused time with Ms. Tamica and company members. We are very proud of everyone!
Everyone has grown and made great strides of growth. Our Teens were able to learn from Bernard Brown, Professor of Dance at LMU and LWDT Alumni. They attended a special Master Class with Michael Montgomery of Alonzo King LINES BALLET, Charmaine Jefferson former Executive Director for the Dance Theatre of Harlem gave a Lecture on Carmen De Lavallade. They had special workshops with Jamal Story, (LWDT alumni, Broadway, Film, Television dancer/choreographer and sits on the Board of Directors for SAG/AFTERA).
