Holiday Cheer + Lights @ SILO in Makers Quarter
Holiday Cheer + Lights will take place on Friday, December 6th from 5pm-8pm in Makers Quarter at the amazing outdoor community gathering space SILO, at 15th and F. In addition to welcoming the holiday season in a unique urban environment, we will also be celebrating San Diego's first Mini Maker Faire, which takes place the following day on December 7th at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
Holiday Cheer + Lights is an all ages celebration of the season that benefits and features the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra, which will be performing holiday favorites. From 5pm-6:30pm, hay ride tours of Makers Quarter will be offered as well as a petting zoo. Guests will also be able to participate in holiday ornament making with ECOR's sustainable ornament kits.
Revelers 21 and up can enjoy local craft beer from Green Flash and handcrafted Alchemy cocktails made with Tito's vodka. Tasty treats will be available for purchase for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to gather around while we light our grand SILO Christmas "Tree" for the season! Guests can also help make a giant paper chain and other decorations and are invited to stay and play SILO games like bocce ball, Ping-Pong and bean bag toss to round out this urban holiday experience.
In the spirit of Mini Maker Faire, there will be a mini preview of the show's exhibits set up. At the Faire the following day, makers en masse will show off their creations and you will learn why modern making is such an empowering and gratifying activity for folks of all ages. Entry for Holiday Cheer + Lights for adults 18 and over is $10.00 and children are admitted for free. Feel free to bring the leashed family pet along as this event is pet friendly!
Event attendees at SILO are always encouraged to use alternative modes of transportation, but there is street parking available if you arrive by car.
