The acclaimed East Coast music group makes its Santa Rosa debut. A Winter Solstice Concert is magical concert experience featuring Celtic and original music in celebration of the longest night of the year, with lyrical narration and poetry by NPR's Neal Conan. The lush, evocative music of Ensemble Galilei blends beautifully with writings and poetry by Ogden Nash, Mary Oliwer, Li Young Lee, Jim Harrison and others.
Hailed for its unique blend of Irish, Scottish, early and original music, Ensemble Galilei creates a magical sound and strikes a riveting stage presence. Mixing the colors and styles of early music instruments with Celtic traditions, the group is as at home with Irish Reels as with original compositions.
