The Tempest
Join the Greater Vallejo Recreation District and Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park for our 11th season fundraiser show of The Tempest by William Shakespeare.
Prospera uses magic to conjure a storm and torment the survivors of a shipwreck, including the Queen of Naples and Prosperas treacherous sister, Antonia. Prosperas slave, Caliban, plots to rid their self of their master, but is thwarted by Prosperas spirit-servant Ariel. The Queens young son Ferdinand, thought to be dead, falls in love with Prosperas daughter Miranda. Their celebrations are cut short when Prospera confronts his Sister and reveals her identity as the usurped Duchess of Milan. The families are reunited and all conflict is resolved. Prospera grants Ariel her freedom and prepares to leave the island.
