Langtoun Jazz presents Rose Room
We are thrilled to have Rose Room opening up our return to presenting live events!! It has been a LONG WAIT but will be well worth it. We are releasing a limited number of tickets initially until we are sure that restrictions will be lifted to allow for more at a later date
Scottish Jazz Award-winners Rose Room have become one of Scotlands leading ensembles influenced by the Gypsy Jazz genre. Sharing a love of Swing music and the style of the great Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, their vigorous and vivacious performances go down a storm with any audience as they serve up their 1930s Hot Club standards, Gypsy Jazz favourites and self-penned originals with virtuosity, verve and panache recreating the excitement of Rive Gauche Paris.
Based in Glasgow, the quartet is fronted by award-winning violinist and sophisticated songstress Seonaid Aitken who was voted Scottish Jazz Awards Best Vocalist in 2017 & 2018 and also plays with the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, the Tim Kliphuis Sextet and is presenter of BBC Radio Scotlands Jazz Nights. Scotlands No.1 guitar maker, Jimmy Moon of Moon Guitars, features on double bass with Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award-winner Swing Guitars Tam Gallagher on rhythm solo guitar. Guitarist, Conor Smith, has recently joined the band
If you want to sit together with friends please book together since we may have to allocate seating in groups as booked
Now that restrictions are eased we have been advised that it is now possible to bring your own refreshments (including alcohol) to our events at Kirkcaldy Old Kirk. Please also bring your own cups, glasses and utensils and don't forget your face coverings which will be required when moving about. Doors will open from 7.30pm Looking forward to seeing lots of lovely jazz enthusiasts who have been starved of live events for so long!
