Anthropomorphic Mouse Taxidermy Class with Sara Ford Cocco
Anthropomorphic Mouse Taxidermy Class with Sara Ford Cocco, licensed taxidermist and owner of Decoratus Curious Antiques and Oddities, Downingtown,Pa.
Anthropomorphism, or personification, is attribution of human form or other characteristics to anything other than a human being.
Learn the basics of the fine art of taxidermy in this hands-on, start to finish, no experience necessary, one day workshop! The class is 5-6 hours long with all supplies and intensive instruction included in the cost of the class....and you will leave with your own completed mount at the end of the workshop!
All students will use basic techniques to skin, flesh, preserve and mount their own mouse specimen. After completing the traditional mount, participants will use miniature props to create a personified scene or character of their choice! Cost for this workshop is $110 per person.
Participants must have a strong constitution for blood and gore...we will be removing the insides of the specimen! Preservative chemicals will be used and protective gloves will be provided.
No animals were killed for use in this workshop. Sara Ford Cocco upholds a strict no-kill policy and uses only naturally deceased animals or animals raised for food. Contact Sara at sfordinteriors@hotmail.com for any questions regarding this workshop.
