The Afternoon Carriage House Salon Continues!: Golden Gate Music Quartet: "Say it with Music"
The Pardee is happy to announce our reopening! Museum volunteers have been hard at work in the museum and garden during these past months of quarantine closure and are excited to announce that we are re-opening as of this month and invite you to join us for our first public event of 2021! Pardee Home Museum: Carriage House Salon Series Golden Gate Music Quartet: "Say it with Music" Sunday, July 25 - 4:00 p.m. Individual ticket: $25 - Table of 4: $100 - Table of 6: $150 Purchase tickets via Brown Paper Tickets The Pardee Home Museum's signature Carriage House Salon events will resume on Sunday, July 25th with the Golden Gate Music Quartet (http://golden-gate-music.com/). This incredible group features Su Buchignani, viola; Paul Rhodes, cello; Rachel Patrick, violin; and Lianna Berubes, violin & viola. These classically trained musicians are fabulous! A specially arranged performance for this re-opening event at the Pardee museum, "Say it with Music" will certainly delight. The program will feature pieces from the American Songbook. The song "Being Green" will be played, with sweet words about treating despondency with the appreciation of the beauty around us. A champagne reception will follow the concert. As we begin cautiously stepping away from our isolation, we need to reboot, continuing to be diligent but remembering mental and emotional health is also of utmost importance. After the 1918 flu epidemic the return to normality took time, but music made the transition smoother. It's time to celebrate our post-vaccine progress. In the twenties, Paul Whiteman's orchestra moved the mood along with music and hired many of the best jazz musicians for his band, including Bix Beiderbecke, Joe Venuti, Jack Teagarden, Bunny Berigan, and Louis Armstrong (perhaps the most influential figure in jazz to emerge in the roaring '20s). This 21st Century pandemic has taken a toll, not only with casualties but the social connections we all need to thrive. It's time to move ahead and the Pardee looks forward to seeing you at our first event back. The event will be held outdoors and up-to-the-minute Covid protocol will be followed; attendees must be vaccinated. Seating will be both assembly style, with space between chairs and/or at tables (if you prefer to be seated with friends and/or family). Capacity is limited, so be sure to reserve your tickets today via brown Paper Tickets (https://ggmusic.brownpapertickets.com/) or by calling Richelle Lieberman at 510.381.1973.
