Fiscal Sponsorship
This training is intended for the S. King County community. We will be holding a second Fiscal Sponsorship training in Seattle later this year, the date has not been announced yet. Online registration on this site is limited to S. King County residents and organizations. If you are not in S. King County, please email us at contact@waaco.org and we will put you on a waiting list for this training, and on a contact list for our Seattle Fiscal Sponsorship training announcement. If you register for this training and you are not working in S. King County, we may put you on a waitlist, if the event is sold out.
This training will explain what a fiscal sponsorship relationship is and what a fiscal sponsorship agreement should include. It will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a fiscal sponsorship structure. We will explain when and why a nonprofit organization would enter into a fiscal sponsorship relationship, the key components of that relationship, drafting a fiscal sponsorship agreement, common pitfalls and misunderstandings of fiscal sponsorship agreements. Speakers will share both legal requirements and practical tips on making a successful fiscal sponsorship relationship. Presenters: Jeannette Lodwig, Seattle Foundation Counsel; Steve Daschel, Executive Director, Southwest Youth & Family Services (Fiscal Sponsor) Kristyn Joy, Got Green?, (Fiscal Sponsored org); and Risho Sapano, Mother Afric (Fiscal Sponsored org).
