Tarbox Ramblers House Concert
In the cold of New England winter, we all need to rock & roll . The Tarbox Ramblers provide the perfect elixir on Friday, January 10 as they turn up the burners on the Roots Hoot House Concerts front turning our music room into one part Mississippi hill country juke joint and other part Appalachian outpost. "Works and Days" is the name of the new Michael Tarbox album and it contains 10 new songs, each beautifully recorded. Rock 'n' roll; relentless rhythm section; guitar solos. Love songs too, Michael Tarbox and his TBR comrades play old-soul music and to incredible effect. At any given Tarbox show you're likely to hear thickets of gorgeous backwater guitar, followed by fierce waves of percussion in call-and response drum-and-vocal songs, followed in turn by timeless lightning-in-a-bottle laments. From a whisper to a roar, in our intimate Roots Hoot music space it will be nothing short of life-affirming. Be there! Suggested charitable contribution for this show is $20. It is a BYOB-only show. Doors at 7 pm and music starts at 7:30 pm.
