Synopsis: A mother tracks down the first person diagnosed with autism, an elderly man now living in Mississippi, to learn what promise his story -- and those of others on the spectrum -- hold for her own autistic son. Her journey exposes cruelty and kindness alike, but ultimately leads to hope.
