Byron St. Cyr
Being a child of New Orleans, music has always been a part of Byrons everyday life. After years of playing jazz saxophone he made the leap into musical theatre and discovered another side of his voice while studying at NYUs Tisch School of the Arts. During that time he began digging into classical voice, reveling in the worlds of Verdi and Puccini. Soon after graduating he began his theatrical career touring the country in Miss Saigon and My Fair Lady and in regional productions including Beauty and the Beast and Ragtime among others. Hes been lucky to share the stage with legends such as Melba Moore, Stephanie Mills and Chita Rivera. After taking a break from the stage, his immense love for music brought him to the cabaret stage where he created and performed in Byron St. Cyr: Old French Whore. He followed that first venture with 4600 Mithra: My New Orleans which earned him a 2018 MAC Nomination. That was followed by SATC: Sondheim and the City with Steven Ferezy, and Byron St. Cyr Swings Down Broadway which also marked his return to the stage in Elf: The Musical at Syracuse Stage. As we wait for the return of theatre post COVID, Byron continues to create at home where he is currently working on original music and his first feature length screenplay.
