Janet Martinez is Senior Lecturer and Director of the Gould Negotiation and Mediation Program at Stanford Law School where she teaches negotiation, advanced negotiation, dispute systems design, and ADR law and policy. Dr. Martinez practiced corporate law for ten years in San Francisco, lastly as Senior Counsel for McKesson Corporation's acquisitions and divestitures. She was Senior Consultant for the Consensus Building Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she conducted extensive public sector, corporate and nonprofit curriculum development and training, and facilitated a series of international policy dialogues. She does corporate executive negotiation trainings with LaxSebenius Negotiation Group, as well as with law firms in North America and abroad. Smith and Martinez are currently writing a law textbook on Dispute Systems Design. Dr. Martinez received her B.S. in Bacteriology from Washington State University, J.D. from Golden Gate University, M.P.A. from Harvard University and Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
