Location History:
Haymond House, located in downtown Sutton, West Virginia, is one of the longest-standing buildings in this tiny town located in Braxton County, partly due to the fact that Confederate soldiers burned much of the town to the ground at the end of 1861.
Built in 1894 by William Edgar Haymond, this Queen Anne-style home stands two-and-a-half stories tall and features a sandstone foundation and a gorgeous front porch with four columns.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004, and it still boasts the original floors and staircase.
Haymond was a well-known local attorney who lived here with his first wife and mother of his children, Emma Catherine, and his second wife, Ethel Rhodes.
According to records, Haymonds eight-year-old grandchild lived at the home at the time of an unexpected death, but it is not known how the child died.
There are also claims of someone dying by strangulation or hanging in the servants stairwell, but there are no known documents to support this.
Now open to welcome paranormal investigators, the history surrounding this property isnt clear, but many who have spent time exploring the space within these walls have a multitude of stories to tell.
Visitors have captured a womans voice on audio recorders on the first floor, in response to their conversations.
Others have witnessed a female apparition on the stairwell landing, and a child playing in the basement area.
Some claim to have been touched or grabbed by an unseen entity when they linger in the servants stairwell.
The history here is murky, and the mystery of this location adds to the lure for those wishing to communicate with the other side in search of answers.

The Paranormal:
Built by local prominent attorney William Edgar Haymond in 1894, this historic building in Sutton, West Virginia is said to be home to a number of spirits but who are they? And why do they linger within these walls?
Join us and see who still resides in this location, and what they may be trying to tell us.
This two-and-a-half story house was home to Mr. Haymond, his first wife, Emma, their children, his second wife Ethel, and a grandchild who reportedly suffered an early death by unknown causes at just eight years old.
This old home still features the original floors and staircase, and perhaps the original inhabitants in spectral form?
Investigators have captured EVPs on voice recorders of a female on the first floor.
Could it be Emma, or maybe Ethel, keeping an eye on the place? Perhaps it is one of the wives who visitors have spotted as the woman in white on the landing between the first and second floors.
Others have reported hearing disembodied footsteps, doors slamming on their own accord, and the front door unlocking by itself.
There are also claims of a child playing in the basement, and of people being grabbed, touched, or steered away from the servants stairwell where a hanging or strangulation is rumored to have taken place.
