Nunsense!
Raise the curtain! Playhouse 395 will return to the stage with the madcap musical comedy, Nunsense!, opening June 13 for six-performance run at Tri-County Fairgrounds, Bishop. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. on June 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22.
We will be performing on the outdoor stage at the Tri County Fair grounds. Health protocols in effect for group gatherings will be followed. Gates open at 5:30 for "Supper with the Sisters!" Beer and wine and local food vendors will be available.
Nunsense follows five of the nineteen surviving Little Sisters of Hoboken, a one-time missionary order that ran a leper colony on an island south of France, after a horrendous culinary disaster. The show, written by Dan Goggin, originally opened Off-Broadway in 1985. Nunsense is the second-longest-running show in Off-Broadway history, and has spawned a television adaptation, six sequels and three spin-offs.
The five Little Sisters of Hoboken are played by local veteran actors Patricia Barton, Karen Keehn, Michelle Dossey, Patti Cook and Nina Potter.
Tickets will also be sold at the door on performance nights for shows that have not sold out in advance.
Playhouse 395 is a non-profit organization using all volunteers for cast and crew. The Nunsense production is made possible with the support of grants awarded by the City of Bishop and Inyo County.
