A FINAL IMPOSSIBILITY is a new performance work centered around a fictionalization of the real-life 1966 collaboration between Norman Rockwell and Pierre Mion on three paintings to commemorate man's first journey to the moon. The play explores themes surrounding an artist's legacy, social relevance vs. social justice, and deep time, in order to dramatize the vastness of time which curves infinitely around and through us. Deep time means that we exist as a simple pinpoint in a spectrum spanning trillions of years ahead of and behind us. It means that so much has taken place right here, where you are, and that one day not so far off, something else will, too; and it's making Norman Rockwell feel uneasy.
