Help Desk Jam Sesh [Online]
7pm-8pm every Wednesday via Zoom
Free, RSVP required.
Talk through your film or media project with other creators in a supportive one-hour session facilitated every week by the Northwest Film Forum team! Bring your thoughts or questions to bounce ideas, get an extra set of eyeballs, find collaborators and connections, or simply gather advice on next steps forward. Expect a time of connecting with community, whether for a one-time check-in or long-term assistance on a project over time.

This program is still in development and will be adapted to participant needs over time. Please note that we cannot help you fundraise for your project or produce your project, though we can help connect you with opportunities and resources.

Graeme Aegerter (he/him) is a photographer, documentary filmmaker, and communications specialist born and raised in Seattle, WA. Inspired by the wonders of nature, culture, and movement, his portraits capture the diverse beauty of people and places around the world. As a young queer filmmaker, Graeme is dedicated to building community power and engagement around social justice issues through creative storytelling. His documentaries have shown at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Afropunk Festival Johannesburg, New York African Film Festival, Durango Independent Film Festival, and more. He has worked on impact campaigns for award-winning documentaries, including Roll Red Roll, engaging communities around the U.S. in the movement to end sexual violence. In his spare time, youll find Graeme making music, dancing, and exploring the hidden gems of Seattle and the PNW outdoors in his free time.
Vivian Hua (she/they) is a writer, filmmaker, and organizer with semi-nomadic tendencies. As the Executive Director of Northwest Film Forum in Seattle, a Co-Founder of the civil rights film series, The Seventh Art Stand, and Editor-in-Chief of the interdisciplinary arts publication, REDEFINE, much of her work unifies her metaphysical interests with her belief that art can positively transform the self and society. In 2018, she released her narrative short film, Searching Skieswhich touches on the controversial topic of Syrian refugee resettlement in the United Statesand in 2020, she will begin production on a comedic Asian-American series entitled Reckless Spirits. She is passionate about researching efforts to preserve cultural space and finding ways to covertly and overtly disrupt oppressive structures.
Jonah Kozlowski (he/him) manages NWFFs education and artist services programs and teaches youth and adult filmmaking workshops. He works to grow community partnerships and new programs that will benefit and inspire youth and adult filmmakers and help them connect to resources in the filmmaking community. Jonah has volunteered and taught at NWFF since 2014. He has been working in media education since 2005, is a teaching artist with Coyote Central and Blanket Fort Films, and has taught with Path with Art, and 4th World Media Lab. Jonah works in traditional and VR filmmaking, helping to put on SIFFX in 2015, and VR exhibitions at Local Sightings and Childrens Film Festival Seattle. He currently serves on the boards of Seattle Documentary Association and ChangeStream Media.
