Abbie and her terrific band return to the Lizard with the newly reshuffled Phil Aiken Army and singer songwriters Eric Salt and Kevin Murphy. Look for an evening featuring impassioned vocals, smart songwriting, and top notch musicianship.
Abbie has accumulated many accolades and achievements over the last few years including;
Number 6 in The Deli Magazine's "Best of New England Emerging Artists" Top 10 poll.
Featured regularly as one of WXRV The River's "Homegrown" artists.
Honorable Mention in American Songwriter magazine's amateur lyrics contest (for "Train"). Appeared in the March/April 09 issue as a lyricist of note.
Album featured as an independent-release record of note in the March/April 09 issue of Performing Songwriter magazine. Runner up in the 2008 International Acoustic Music Awards for Best Female Artist.
PHIL AIKEN is a keyboardist extraordinaire who plays regularly with many bands around town including but not limited to Bill Janovitz and Jenny Dee and The Deelinquents. The new Army lineup features Jefferson Davis - Drums Billy Loosigian- Guitar Joe Klompus- Bass Phil Aiken - Piano, Organ, Keys,Vocals Chris Toppin - Vocals Nate Leavitt - Guitar
In addition to being a lifelong musician, Eric Salt holds a degree and formal training in music and production skills as well as years of experience working at some of Boston's major recording studios and venues including Fort Apache Studios / MCA Records, First Act Guitar Live Music Series, and The Abbey Lounge.
ERIC SALT - Gaining a niche in the live sound/recording world, Eric went on to record hundreds of live performances by such artists as MGMT, Brandi Carlisle, The Fray, Paul Westerburg, and Rob Thomas.
Eric helped create the legendary Abbey Lounge music scene in the Boston area where he engineered and/or recorded live shows by many up and coming touring acts such as The Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Julianna Hatfield, and Pleasure Club.
In addition to producing albums, Eric has gained award-winning credentials in television and film. Over the past several years he:
Composed and produced music for Sony Pictures Television, including WB's "Dawson's Creek" and "Summerland" Scored and produced music for David Sutherland's critically acclaimed documentary, "Country Boys" on PBS' Frontline. Scored and produced music for independent films including Steve Croke's, "The Busker" which won New Hampshire Film Festival in 2007.
