Brave New Play Rites Full Production - kris I Talk Trauma
For 35 years, Brave New Play Rites has been staging new short plays by emerging playwrights studying in the Creative Writing Program at UBC. This year, to follow health and safety mandates from the BC government due to Covid-19, we have moved our entire festival online. Ten full productions of short plays have been filmed, each one to be released daily from April 17th, for you to enjoy from the safety of your own home!
Our ninth short play is - "kris I Talk Trauma" by Islay Burgess.
Kris I Talk Trauma is a dramedy about Kris who wants to improvise a really affecting monologue for BNPR, but cant, because he gets caught up in memories and realizes story telling is a lot harder when its so personal.
kris I Talk Trauma is directed by Britt McLeod and features the performance of Aoife McAndless-Davis as Kris
