Brave New Play Rites Full Production - Siren Song
For 35 years, Brave New Play Rites has been staging new short plays by emerging playwrights studying in the Creative Writing Program at UBC. This year, to follow health and safety mandates from the BC government due to Covid-19, we have moved our entire festival online. Ten full productions of short plays have been filmed, each one to be released daily from April 17th, for you to enjoy from the safety of your own home!
Our fifth short play is - "Siren Song" by Sydney Marino.
Siren Song is a play about a mythical Siren and the fisherman who falls under her spell. They must fight against her enchanting song in hopes of saving his life and freeing her from her murderous curse.
Siren Song is directed by Louisa Phung and features the performances of Yoora Kang as Siren, and Travis Friday as Man
